Cedar House is a modern three-bedroom townhouse, sleeping up to eight guests and offering parking.

Cedar House offers a relaxing modern retreat, peacefully situated within a contemporary gated development and just a stone’s throw from Whitstable’s vibrant High Street, boasting an eclectic mix of independent shops, trendy cafés, beachfront pubs, and superb seafood restaurants. With private parking available for two cars (and an additional guest space if required), you can leave parking worries behind and fully immerse yourself in the delightful Whitstable experience!

Accommodation

Stepping inside Cedar House, the first-floor open-plan living area immediately feels light and airy. This generous space is ideal for family dinners or entertaining, enjoying cosy TV evenings on the large L-shaped sofa (which converts into a double sofa bed), or for relaxing with a book in our inviting reading nook. For those who enjoy cooking, the contemporary kitchen is well-equipped with modern Bosch appliances, a Nespresso machine, and ample counter space.

Cedar House offers two double bedrooms that continue the theme of contemporary design and natural materials. Warm-toned wood, organic cotton bedding and towels, vintage mirrors, and original artwork combine to create a calming atmosphere with a unique personal touch.The single bedroom is decorated in soothing seaside tones for a restful night’s sleep (please note there is a spare single mattress underneath the bed, but when in use, floor space around both beds will be limited).

In addition to an en-suite shower in the master bedroom, there is a contemporary family bathroom and a convenient cloakroom on the ground floor.

Also located on the ground floor, a utility room provides guests with space to wash swimwear and beach towels, and a convenient under-stairs hanging area keeps coats, shoes, and umbrellas tidily out of sight.

The living room opens onto a balcony, and the back garden, which features astro turf, offers a table and chairs – the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee in the Whitstable air.

Neighbourhood

Whether you’ve enjoyed fresh lobster while watching Whitstable’s renowned sunset or brought back a classic fish and chip supper, Cedar House, with its designer-inspired décor, natural materials, original artwork, and vintage pieces, provides a cool and modern environment where you’ll instantly feel at home.

A favourite Whitstable day might include an early morning walk across the golf course for a refreshing beach swim, followed by breakfast at The Windy Corner café, a lazy read on the beach, a delightful picnic lunch from Wheelers, browsing the charming vintage shops or galleries with an ice cream (or perhaps a virtuous cycle up to Herne Bay!).

Golf enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the Whitstable and Seasalter Golf Course is just a five-minute stroll away. For those less inclined towards golf, a continued walk will lead you to the famous ‘pub on the beach’, The Old Neptune.

Cedar House also boasts a fantastic location for sports enthusiasts. The local cricket ground is so close you can actually hear the satisfying sound of leather on willow, and the house is named for its view of the club’s magnificent cedar tree.

Back at Cedar House, there’s ample time for a relaxing nap or catching a glimpse of the cricket before heading out to watch the sunset over cocktails at the Continental or enjoy beers at The Lobster Shack.

After a long day of paddling on the beach, cycling the scenic Crab and Winkle Way, or experiencing the culture at the nearby Turner Gallery in Margate, you’ll be looking forward to a restful night’s sleep.

Getting Around

There is gated off street parking for 3 cars. You can also visit the ‘Just Park’ website to find out where to park in Whitstable.

There are frequent buses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along Harbour Street, High Street, Oxford Street etc. The trains from Whitstable station will take you to Ramsgate or further afield to London. Whitstable Train Station is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre. Whitstable Taxi services are available for short fares or airport runs. The nearest airports are in London and the nearest Ferry port is in Dover.

FAQ

You may arrive at your property anytime after 3pm. When you book you will be told how to acquire the keys and the address of the property. If you arrive early and would like to leave your bags somewhere this may be possible, please speak to us about this when booking. Please vacate the property by 10am on the day of departure.

Please respect the property and local area you are staying in, do not litter, waste energy or water, and take every effort to guard against fire and damage. Please also be conscientious to the neighbours and local people, especially in regards to noise.

Unless stated in the individual property details, cleaning will be at no extra charge, unless deep cleaning is required after your stay. Please leave the property as you found it.

Property descriptions give the ideal number of guests, it may also advise a plus or extras- this indicates that extra guests could be accommodated through arrangement- e.g. on a sofa bed. Under no circumstances must the maximum number of guests be exceeded, you must specify how many guests there will be when booking, and if you wish to change this after booking please speak to us before you arrive.

These will be provided at no extra charge and information will be provided at each property regarding this, for example the availability of hot water. Please do not change the settings on any of the services. If you are experiencing difficulties please contact us.

Please see individual property details for facilities provided, and see inventory for a list of what is generally provided.

If you have any special requirements, such as disabled or elderly guests or children please advise us when booking and we will advise you accordingly as to which properties would be suitable and if there is anything we can do to make their stay easier.

Smoking is not allowed at any of the properties.

There is an information pack at most of the properties which provides local information and instructions for equipment in the house, emergency telephone numbers and contact numbers, waste collection details, information on local attractions and transport.

Some houses have private parking, or free road parking, some will require you to find parking nearby, please check the specific house details. We will be able to advise you as to where it is best to park. However parking cannot be guaranteed and we accept no responsibility for vehicles left.

Please separate landfill and recycling into the bins and r bags provided. These will be collected weekly, see information pack for details.

Bed linen and bath towels are included free of charge. Beach towels are not provided.

A deposit of 30% of the total charge is required upon booking to reserve the property. There will be no deposit taken on arrival at the property however you pay a Damage Waiver when booking.

Some properties accommodate pets and this will be made clear under the individual property details. You cannot leave your dog unattended in the property. Do not let your dog upstairs or on the furniture and make sure you clear up any mess from the garden.

Upon your arrival please familiarise yourself with the exits and location and operating procedures of any fire extinguishers or blankets. Keep pets and children away from balconies, stairs, water features and open fires make sure they are supervised at all times, make sure fires are fully extinguished before leaving the property or going to sleep. Instruction manuals are provided at each property for appliances, please read before use and advise us immediately if anything is broken or you are experiencing difficulty. Please tell us about all breakages.

All gas appliances must be installed and maintained by a CORGI registered engineer and certificates are available to view on request. If something appears broken please notify us immediately. Please ensure all gas cookers and fires are switched off after use and when you go to sleep.

If you have any complaints please contact us or the owner straight away. Do not wait until you get home otherwise we cannot be given the chance to rectify any issues. Once we are aware of a problem we will do our best to help.
